RTD also operates a commuter rail line that runs from the airport to downtown Denver via Denver Union Station. Bus services are also available, and the van service extends from Denver International Airport to the Denver Convention Center and back.
United Airlines is the only resident of Concourse B, and Mainline United operates from the west end of the hall, while United Express serves the East End concourses, which currently include the West End concourse, as well as the North End and South End. In addition, Amtrak offers ticket sales for flights to and from Denver International Airport via Denver Union Station and Denver Convention Center. Southwest Airlines are the main users of these courtyards, each using its own terminals and baggage claim areas.
Border control at the airport excludes flights to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFX).
There are currently twelve special gates for international arrivals, and four gates in the centre of the hall are equipped for large aircraft. Two are equipped with three doors suitable for the handling of Airbus A380 aircraft, and one is equipped with a three-engine door for the handling of Boeing 777 - 300ER and Boeing 787 - 800 aircraft, as well as Boeing 747 - 400, Boeing 737 - 900, Airbus Cessna 300 and Airbus B777 - 500. All have two jet bridges designated "A" and "B," and all four are equipped for handling wide-body aircraft, each with its own entrance gate.
Hall A is one of three halls served by a metro, and the DIA is also known for the pedestrian bridge that connects the terminal with Hall A, which allows passengers to walk across the hall to see the planes taxiing. The subways that connect the main terminal to Concourse B feature a number of public artworks, including a work of art about Colorado's history. The mural is ambiguous in its meaning and shows scenes showing imprisoned animals and People suffering from diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's and cancer.
In the past, it has been interpreted by spectators as a symbol of the deaths of the Colorado Rockies, the state's most famous sports team, and the Denver Broncos.
In March 2019, the airport unveiled an animated, talking gargoyle in the middle of one of the congresses. The statue wears an A7L print suit and poses with a gold-plated helmet. Many people have defended or denigrated the sculpture, and one incident involved damaging it with hooves and orange paint.
The NTSB launched an investigation to determine whether foreign body damage was possibly the cause, such as sharp sand used for train operations in winter, combined with the loss of a fuel hose from the aircraft's fuel tank in an airport accident. The NTS B determined that the accident happened when the fuel hoses were clamped at an inappropriate angle.
In April 1994, the city invited reporters to observe the installation of the first automated baggage system at the United States airport. The baggage system ended the use of traditional baggage handlers who manually handled cargo and passenger baggage, but it remained a maintenance operation.

After the blizzard, the airport invested heavily in new snow removal systems, so that the snow could be cleared in less than two hours instead of the usual three to four hours. Two feet of snow in fortified areas closed the road for nearly two days, and the weight of heavy snow caused a 40-foot crack that forced the evacuation of a section of the main terminal. Reporters were confronted with scenes of clothing and other personal items scattered along the tracks of the system, as the triggers that carried luggage from belt to belt often threw luggage directly out of the systems.
DIA is currently reviewing the master plan and the city reached its capacity limit for the first phase in 2008. As part of this master plan update, the airport announced a partnership with Parsons Corporation, which designed the two bridges to the main terminal.
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) operates a frequent airport express bus called skyRide, which connects DIA to Denver International Airport and the University of Colorado in about 37 minutes. The A-Line is an electric commuter train that runs from Denver Union Station to the Dia Hotel and Transit Center. The A-Line, sometimes referred to as the East Rail Line, as it is called in the sponsorship agreement, is operated by the regional transportation district and funded by a $1.5 billion federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. It was built in partnership with the Denver Metropolitan Transportation Authority (DMA) and Denver Metro Transit Authority and was commissioned on April 22, 2016.
