Very old displays, nothing interactive. The roof leaks. The gift shop is 2 shelves. Don't waste your time.
 Great place to learn about Kern's geological history

This museum is great to take older (about 8 and up) kids. Smaller ones may get board if they are not into fossils/dinosaurs/etc. But for those wanting to get a look at Kern's history before there were people here, this is a great place to go. Hands on exhibits let you see and feel while learning. The docents are great and explain everything clearly to you, no matter what your educational background is.
